Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy describes how BillScrubs (“we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information when you use the BillScrubs mobile application and this website (collectively, the “Services”). We designed BillScrubs so that sensitive health and financial details from your invoice and EOB documents are processed on your device and are not sent to our servers for that processing.
1. Who we are
BillScrubs is provided in connection with the BillScrubs app. For privacy questions, contact support@billscrubs.com.
2. Information the app processes
When you use the app, you may provide images or files of medical invoices and Explanation of Benefits documents. The app uses on-device technologies (such as on-device text recognition and local analysis) to extract and compare amounts. That document content and derived text are processed on your device. We do not operate a cloud service that receives your invoice or EOB images or full document text for the purpose of running BillScrubs’ core verification.
If you use optional features that rely on third-party services in the future, we will describe them here and in the app.
3. Data storage
Copies of documents you add may be stored only in the app’s local storage on your device, as described in the app. Uninstalling the app or clearing app data may delete that local data. You are responsible for securing your device (passcode, biometrics, etc.).
4. Website
This website may collect standard server or analytics information that hosting providers or tools typically log (for example, IP address, browser type, pages visited, and timestamps). Use of such data depends on your hosting and analytics configuration. If you add analytics or forms, update this section to match what you actually collect.
5. Permissions
The app may request access to your camera and/or photo library so you can capture or select invoice and EOB images. You can revoke these permissions in your device settings. We use them only to let you provide images to the on-device processing pipeline.
6. Apple App Store and App Privacy labels
When you distribute the app through Apple’s App Store or TestFlight, Apple may require you to complete App Privacy details in App Store Connect. You should answer those questions based on your actual build and any third-party SDKs. For the core BillScrubs flow described above, data collection for processing user documents is expected to be none or limited to what stays on-device, consistent with Apple’s definitions.
7. Children
The Services are not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
8. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy on this page and update the “Effective date” above. Continued use of the Services after changes means you accept the revised policy.
